Our Story

Arbeidsvreugde

The name was taken from a brother who requested that we name the place Arbeidsvreugde due to that we started renovating the house to stay for our pension. The house was on the banks of the Vaal River. That then escalated into the building of a flat, which was called Marilyn, then we bought one stand, another stand, and another stand, which now we have a bigger view of the Vaal River, which had a little house, which we then renovated, into three places called London, Elephant, and Renoster. Then we built another place, which was called Elvis also on the banks of the Vaal River. If that were not enough we renovated a garage into a two-bedroom place called Antique Shiek.

Accommodation Available

Ablution Block : Two separate bathrooms each with a shower, toilet and a sink and one of them has a crib that can be used for the tents or day visitors.

Olifant : A lovely thatched cottage by the river with a wonderful view of the river. Sleeps 6 – 8. One room with queen bed and single bed. Open plan with bunker bed, queen below and single bed above. Living room with sofa bed for two. Kitchen: fridge, microwave, stove, kettle, toaster and everything for self service. Air conditioning, communal braai area by the river.

Antiek Shiek : A cute two bedroom place that is private and for people who just want to come and relax and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. Sleeps 4. In each room a queen bed, living room, bathroom, story, toilet and sink. Kitchen, fridge, stove, kettle, microwave, toaster and self-service. Air conditioning. Barbecue

London : Sleeps 2, double bed, bathroom, shower, toilet and sink. Kitchen: fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, stove and open plan living area. Joint barbecue near the river with breath-taking view of the river and also near river for fishing. London to the people self-service.

Marilyn : a Memoriabelia open plan place of Marilyn Monroe. Sleeps 4, queen bed, double bed, bathroom, shower, tub and sink. Open plan sitting and kitchen also popular self-service. Fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, stove. air conditioning. Private entrance. Braai area.
